Growing up, I always had the luxury of a home-cooked meal every night for supper and multiple on the weekends. My mom is a fabulous cook (who will never admit it) who truly finds happiness by cooking for those she cares about. I’m pretty sure I have inherited this trait, but unfortunately it is hard to cook great meals in college for usually only one person. I like making things, but I do not have the money (and many times the time) to make a hearty home-cooked meal every day of the week. I normally make simple foods that don’t require recipes like wraps, sandwiches, buttered noodles with spices, salads, and many foods that come frozen or in cans. Although this is an easier way to eat, it also is a less tasty way to

So, I’m all moved in and loving my place! I live with three other girls (good friends of mine, thankfully – I know how hard it can be to live with strangers), and we each have our own room and a kitchen with an attached living room that has floor to ceiling windows. It’s great! We have two bathrooms, two huge storage closets, air conditioning, and a fairly large closet in each room. I don’t have pictures of the rest of the apartment, but I do have pictures of my room. It’s definitely not done because I have a lot I want to do to stay crafty this school year, but it’s fine for

I’m all moved in to my apartment. I don’t have any pictures at the moment because life became very hectic very quickly, but I hope to get into a routine tomorrow or Thursday and will have normal posts then. I’m very drained from my first day back at work at the cafeteria because we had a picnic lunch and thousands of people showed up. There was a lot of running around, a lot of not knowing what to do, and a lot of sweat being out in the hot sun. Luckily, the rest of the week I will be swiping cards and monitoring who gets into the cafeteria. It should settle down a bit soon (I hope). My first day of classes is tomorrow. I’m excited, but need to catch up on sleep. I hope to show my room in the next couple days! Have a great week!

I have finished packing up all of my belongings and am just waiting until ten tomorrow to hit the road for school. Am I happy? Sure. Am I sad? Sure. This is my third time doing this, but every time I start out really excited, but then get sadder and sadder as the moving date approaches. It never gets any easier. I even took a summer class this year (which ended only a month and a half ago), and yet I still feel like I have been home forever and school was just a dream. It somehow always feels like the first time every time I leave for school. I know it will really be sad once my parents leave, but once I get back into the swing of things, I will feel better, but a little sadness will always be left
