This weekend I was feeling very crafty, which called for some shopping that led to some incredible finds! I have a lot of crafts to share in the next couple of weeks, so I’m very excited! In the meantime, here are some of the cool things I found this weekend.
Last week, two of my favorite bloggers (Bryn and Jenny) blogged about Daily Drop Cap, a website with amazing decorative initial caps posted once every day. That compelled me to buy this when I first saw it at Marshalls for $7.99. Maybe it was a little more expensive than what I would normally spend, but considering it was pay day and it was totally awesome, I gave in and bought it. It now sits on my desk but also can be hung.

The next find is seriously something I am so in love with that I want to design a whole kitchen around it. I found it at a garage sale for three bucks! I scrambled through my change to find enough and luckily I did. It is perfect! I am so in love with the color turquoise and this piece is not only beautiful but incredibly functional. Right now we are using it as a napkin holder for napkins in a gorgeous plum color. I can see it being used as a candy dish, a serving dish, a centerpiece, maybe even a towel holder, or perhaps a toiletry holder in a bathroom. So many uses!

I found these great tin containers for fifty cents a piece at a store called Tren D. Home. I couldn’t resist. I’ll find a use for them eventually.

My last impulse buy was these adorable salt and pepper shakers, also from Tren D. Home. I have a Scottish Terrier named Stewart Wallace, and like many dog owners, it takes a lot for me to refrain from buying whatever takes on the form of my dog. I thought these were so cute that I bought them. They were only $7, but I didn’t need them. Oh well, I love them!

So what do you think of my impulse buys? Did you find any treasures this past week? What’s something you can never keep yourself from buying, or are you the perfect shopper, buying only what you set out to buy and nothing more?

I love the little salt and pepper shaker! I’m not much of a animal collector, but if I see something beagle-ish, I want it ’cause it reminds me of my dog, Taters.
The letter ‘S’ is very cool, I love that color! The dish is equally as awesome. :)
Oooh I love that S!!! And of course that dish is stunning! Great color and I can see it being used for so many things!
I’m so in love with that letter S! Does it have any markings as far as what company makes it? I’d love to be able to find it on ebay or something.
Jeannette,
I love it, too! I checked the price sticker and the receipt and there was no indication as to who made the S. I wish there was! I have no clue what brand it is or anything. I’m sorry! It really is cool. If you have a Marshalls, Home Goods, or TJ Maxx around, I’d check there and maybe ask an associate or something. Good luck! I wish I had more information about it!

LOVE the “S”!!!
All the things you found are things I would like. The blue dish can be used for many things definitely a great buy! The salt and pepper shakers are cute and good for conversation. I like the tin holders they would be cute on my window sill at the kitchen. Imagination is such a good thing so many things you can do.
